Freedom of expression, passion for painting and succeeding, distinguish the way of Paule B. Chaumette.

In 1990, Paule finished her grant in fine arts at Laval University, in Québec City. Since then, she has taken up water-color, lithograpy, etching, and acrylic.

At the beginning of the sixties, Paule enrolled herself in free workshops, with well known painters like Albert Rousseau and Nicolas Kvalinsky. She shares in many individual and collective exhibitions, in Québec, as abroad.


"Painting, is all my life." Paule says she can not conceive to live without creating. Nature is her main source of inspiration. She makes paintings vivid of space and of landscapes, which appeal to the fantastic. "It is the feeling of the line and of the color which guide my way, after then the harmony and the fineness of the subject. I think that a painting should speak to you and transmit peacefulness and emotion. Each one has a story, a mystery, to everyone to translate it, according to his perception and his way of life. A priority of the artist is to reveal in her paintings the sensitivity, the softness,the fragility, without neglecting the quality of the pigment."

Liberté d'expression, passion de peindre et de réussir caractérisent le cheminement de Paule B. Chaumette.

Dès le début des années soixante, Paule s'inscrit à des ateliers libres avec des peintres réputés tel qu'Albert Rousseau et Nicolas Kvalinsky. Elle participe à diverses expositions solo et collectives, tant au Québec qu'à l'étranger.

En 1990, Paule termine un baccalauréat en arts visuels à l'Université Laval. Actuellement elle s'adonne principalement à l'acrylique et à l'aquarelle.

"Peindre, c'est toute ma vie." Paule dit ne pouvoir imaginer vivre sans créer. La nature est sa principale source d'inspiration. Elle peint des tableaux évocateurs d'espaces et de paysages qui s'adressent à l'imaginaire."C'est la sensibilité de la ligne et de la couleur qui guide ma route: par la suite, l'harmonie et la subtilité du sujet. Je pense qu'un tableau doit te parler, te transmettre de la douceur, de l'émotion. Chaque tableau a une histoire, un mystére, à chacun de l'interpréter selon sa perception et son vécu. Une priorité de l'artiste est de laisser percevoir dans ses oeuvres la sensibilité, la douceur, la fragilité tout en ne dédaignant la qualité du pigment."
